So, yeah, going into the film tons of people thought it was 100% real. No mainstream entertainment outlets had discussed it. Imagine hundreds and thousands of flyers around the country for these people who have "disappeared." You wouldnt think, "Oh, this is for sure for a movie."
We said sure, and hung one up in our window. The video store I worked at at the time was approached by a random person one day asking if they could put up flyers in our store of their missing friends, that they were some filmmakers that went on a trip to make a documentary and disappeared.
